NARUTO: SUSPENDED MEMORIES

Itachi's death was far too untimely for Danzou, the ANBU leader, and the Hokage's two advisors, Homura, and Koharu. What made it all the more worse, was Sasuke's survival. He now is the living evidence to their crimes, and if word of Itachi's mission reached the Fifth Hokage's ears -Tsunade - then Konoha will be cast into darkness and chaos will ensue. In order to solidify their position, and gain control of Konoha before they are found out, they have released the one secret no one save themselves know of. Since Naruto's birth, another child has been trained away from the eyes of Konoha. Trained in a similar fashion to Sai, this child is considered a prodigy and the strength of this prodigy is enormous. The latent potential within the child rivals and exceeds that of any Sannin. By bringing the child into the open, Danzou, Homura, and Koharu are effectively moving in to banish Tsunade from Konoha. Worried regarding her own position, life, and the knowledge she holds, Tsunade is force to flee Konoha. Jiraiya's message regarding Pein's true identity is firmly engraved in her mind, but with her position as Hokage lost, she finds herself constantly on the run with no one to turn to. Her knowledge is far too valuable, and Danzou knows this. With some of the finest of Konoha's ANBU on her tail, Tsunade is hunted as fiercely as any prey. Although they are no match for her, truly, in a fight face-to-face, they keep her harried and out of the way of Konoha and its new leaders. Although, Danzou, Homura, and Koharu hold great power of Konoha, chaos has still become rampant. Surprised by the swift usurping of this apparent, "prodigy", several shinobis have fled Konoha entirely, others rebel within the village itself. Struggling to maintain control, Danzou orders all those loyal to him to punish any who oppose him and the new Hokage. Murder becomes laced in Konoha, and no place in the village is considered safe. Not far from Konoha, the Akatsuki have grown restless and their presence has become more known. Pein, feeling threatened by the coming of this prodigy, mobilizes the Akatsuki towards Konoha, in hopes to either capture the prodigy or severely weaken Konoha and its infrastructure. With the Leaf village so weak, it has become far easier to infiltrate it, and thus, it is believed several Akatsuki currently are within the village itself, keeping a careful eye out and shifting rumours from truth, in order to find the exact location of the Sixth Hokage. Among the Leaf nins, Kakashi and his pupils, Sakura and Naruto, remain. Their hopes are to gain more information regarding Tsunade departure and the rapid rise of this new Hokage. As well, they feel pressed by the presence of Pein and feel they must remain in Konoha, to ensure its safety. With Konoha in such turmoil, other villages have chosen this time to move in closer to the Leaf village, possibly in hopes of expanding. And not far off, Sasuke mulls, considering his options along with the rest of Team Hebi. Shall he approach Konoha, and take it by force, or wait it out, watching Akatsuki make its move forward. It is up to him, and he must ensure that he can take Konoha, before he moves forward. With his brother's death, Sasuke has known gained the ability of the Mangekyou, and with it, even greater power. He is no longer no idle threat, but a force that must be reckoned with. Now, it comes to the prodigy. Will he remain passive, controlled by Danzou and his orders? Or will he move forth, trying to expand Konoha and defeating rival countries, as well as capturing Tsunade and questioning her immediately. Or, will he remain within Konoha, playing defensively; he is not controlled by Danzou, but simply evaluating his situation and what he should do to fix it.
